iPhone 8 Camera Concept Full review
That’s why, even before it hits the market, expectations about the iPhone 8 – as it is known so far – are immense. Much had to see that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus changed very little compared to the model of 2014. The iPhone 6 was a very different design proposal compared to the iPhone 5 and 5S and although the design cycle of Apple pointed to a IPhone 7 novel and purposeful, that was not what the company brought to market.
Despite being a powerful device – with better processor, camera and more storage than its predecessor – the iPhone 7 definitely disappointed with its lack of innovation.
Now all Apple observers and fans are hoping the company will rip out the thorn and present a 10th anniversary iPhone that will do the same thing as the first iPhone in 2007: to revolutionize the industry.
However, doing so in 2017 is much more difficult, because in recent years we have seen flagship phones with very innovative designs, such as the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, with extraordinary cameras such as Google Pixel and even with modular proposals like The LG G5 and the new Lenovo Moto with its Moto Mods accessories. Innovating in this industry is more difficult than ever, but not impossible.
Apple has a reputation for breaking with the conventional and transforming whole categories. It has also driven ankylosed categories like computers, as it did with the color bubble iMac in 1998.
But the Apple of Tim Cook has not been characterized by being at the forefront, so it is difficult to guess how much the company will innovate with the iPhone of 2017. The truth is that, being his most important product – one that saw his First quarters of recent sales declines – the Cupertino giant has to launch a strong product that will enable it to maintain industry leadership. That is, it really has no other.
Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities says the iPhone “will bring back the golden age” of the company, thanks to all the qualities that are being pursued. That, he says, will generate sales of 150 million units. What are those qualities? We tell you below.
